Vancouver’s Ninjaspy Sign With Japanese Label Zestone Records, Release Debut Album ‘Pi Nature’ On October 14, 2009, Announce Canada-Wide Tour Dates Starting September 17th

VANCOUVER, September 14, 2009 /Kingpen Media Group – Joel, Adam and Tim Parent, the 3 brothers that make up the powerhouse trio NINJASPY (www.ninjaspy.net), announced today that they have signed with ZESTONE Records to release Pi Nature, their debut album. Written by NINJASPY, Produced by Garth Richardson and Ben Kaplan, and mixed by Bill Kennedy, Pi Nature is due for release on October 14th across Japan.

“People kept telling me we needed to go to Japan,” says guitarist/ vocalist Joel Parent, “so I went there to do some martial arts training. I ended up meeting a ton of awesome, open-minded people. I heard bands like SIM doing ska and breakdowns, stuff that you would rarely hear in North America. I walked into record stores and actually found a ‘Mixture’ section on the shelves. On that trip I realized that we really belonged over there. Then I met a friend of a friend in Osaka, Tag from Zestone, and the world seemed a whole lot smaller.”

NINJASPY’s infectious first single, “EVOLUTION OF THE SKID,” was released in the Spring of 2009. The single is taken from Pi Nature and won them a coveted spot on the Taste of Chaos Tour in Calgary, AB. See link below to watch the video for “Evolution of The Skid”.

Since the beginning of 2007, NINJASPY has been the buzz band in Vancouver and has performed alongside such notables as Thrice, Protest The Hero, Bring Me The Horizon, Cancer Bats, Grimskunk, Pierce The Veil, 3 Inches of Blood and more. Their explosive growth is due in large part to the band’s intensely loyal fan base they built from the ground up through hard touring and on MySpace and YouTube. Ninjaspy’s potent Hardcore/Ska/Funk sound, skilled musicianship, energetic live shows and sense of style has led to over 200,000+ plays of their music on their MySpace artist profile page. In addition to recently performing at the Taste of Chaos Tour, the band was asked to perform at Warped Tour 2009 in Vancouver by Warped Tour founder himself, Kevin Lymon. “We were so impressed with them at TOC we asked them to do Warped as well,” says Lymon, “We’ll be taking notes on Ninjaspy!” The band is currently preparing to embark on their 3rd Canada wide headlining club tour called the THROW IT DOWN Fall Tour ’09.
