Vancouver’s Ninjaspy Sign With Japanese Label Zestone Records, Release Debut Album ‘Pi Nature’ On October 14, 2009, Announce Canada-Wide Tour Dates Starting September 17th

VANCOUVER, September 14, 2009 /Kingpen Media Group – Joel, Adam and Tim Parent, the 3 brothers that make up the powerhouse trio NINJASPY (www.ninjaspy.net), announced today that they have signed with ZESTONE Records to release Pi Nature, their debut album. Written by NINJASPY, Produced by Garth Richardson and Ben Kaplan, and mixed by Bill Kennedy, Pi Nature is due for release on October 14th across Japan.
“People kept telling me we needed to go to Japan,” says guitarist/ vocalist Joel Parent, “so I went there to do some martial arts training. I ended up meeting a ton of awesome, open-minded people. I heard bands like SIM doing ska and breakdowns, stuff that you would rarely hear in North America. I walked into record stores and actually found a ‘Mixture’ section on the shelves. On that trip I realized that we really belonged over there. Then I met a friend of a friend in Osaka, Tag from Zestone, and the world seemed a whole lot smaller.”
NINJASPY’s infectious first single, “EVOLUTION OF THE SKID,” was released in the Spring of 2009. The single is taken from Pi Nature and won them a coveted spot on the Taste of Chaos Tour in Calgary, AB. See link below to watch the video for “Evolution of The Skid”.

Since the beginning of 2007, NINJASPY has been the buzz band in Vancouver and has performed alongside such notables as Thrice, Protest The Hero, Bring Me The Horizon, Cancer Bats, Grimskunk, Pierce The Veil, 3 Inches of Blood and more. Their explosive growth is due in large part to the band’s intensely loyal fan base they built from the ground up through hard touring and on MySpace and YouTube. Ninjaspy’s potent Hardcore/Ska/Funk sound, skilled musicianship, energetic live shows and sense of style has led to over 200,000+ plays of their music on their MySpace artist profile page. NINJASPY PREMIERE “EVOLUTION OF THE SKID” VIDEO, ANNOUNCE JUNOFEST APPEARANCE WITH PROTEST THE HERO
Vancouver’s powerhouse trio NINJASPY see the world-wide premiere of their “Evolution of The Skid” video today, exclusively via NINJASPY TV the band’s YouTube Channel. The video, the first single from their critically acclaimed debut Pi Nature, was directed and filmed by NINJASPY’s own Tim Parent as well as visual renegade artist Monkman of Vancouver based MONKMAN MEDIA, with additional footage from Cassia Parent and Toronto producer Dajaun Martineau . The video was shot at various NINJASPY shows from their successful 2008 Canadian tour including some raucous footage from their infamous “4/20” performance that had over 5,400 in attendance!

NINJASPY have also recently announced their first-ever appearance at JUNOFEST as part of the Jägermeister Freak Show with PROTEST THE HERO and locals CALLAHAN. No stranger to the Jäger family NINJASPY had been handpicked by Jägermeister’s David Videka to appear on the Jäger produced CD compilation for the Nearly Famous Music Festival.
NINJASPY will spend all of May on tour in Western Canada and make an appearance at BRUTALFEST 2009 with “Supergroup” TERROR SYNDROME and Nuclear Blast Recording artists DIVINITY. The band also plans on heading to the UK/EU in the Fall of 2009.

Based in Vancouver, Canada, LEFT SPINE DOWN (also known by the acronym LSD) plays a brand of music called Cyberpunk that fuses the sounds of Industrial, Metal, Punk and Electronica.
The band features Jeremy Inkel of Industrial music legends FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY & NOISE UNIT and also Denyss McKnight the former bass player of Vancouver punk heavyweights THE BLACK HALOS. The band has no shortage of firepower both on stage and in the studio.
The band self released their first album entitled the SMARTBOMB EP in June 2007, and it was met with a frenzied reception from fans and critics worldwide. The EP was produced by FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY/NOISE UNIT/UNIT 187’s CHRIS PETERSON.
Their full length release FIGHTING FOR VOLTAGE saw the band combining efforts with mastering giant SHAUN THINGVOLD (SKINNY PUPPY/STRAPPING YOUNG LAD/LAMB OF GOD/K-OS) and again with CHRIS PETERSON. The album was released in Canada on April 22, 2008 by Canadian label SYNTHETIC SOUNDS, distributed across Canada by Indie Pool and is set for release on September 23rd 2008 in the USA by BIT RIOT RECORDS/WTII RECORDS.
The band has been very active in the Vancouver live music scene over the last few years sharing the stage with The Birthday Massacre, Combichrist, DOA, Genitorturers, SNFU, 16Volt, Rabbit Junk and Chemlab to name a few. Recently they have expanded their audience with several Canadian tours which have taken them to Montreal and back. They were also asked to perform at this years’ New Music West (NMW) festival in Vancouver.
With a Fall 2008 Tour taking the boys all across North America with over 40 dates and hitting the USA for their first time…things are sure to heat up and the message will continue being spread to the masses

Ninjaspy picked up momentum where their faceless seven year muse left off. For a year and a half they played relentlessly in Vancouver and toured several times across Canada with help from friends in Whitey and Batoche. In correlation with a commitment to real, reciprocal human connection and zero-ego, high-energy, free-expression dance pits, support for Ninjaspy grows with every show.
Through alliances with Darren Gilmore of Watchdog Management and prolific producers GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mudvayne, Kittie) and Ben Kaplan, Ninjaspy released their debut cd Pi-Nature in the fall of 2007. The record finally fused the fragments of influence Ninjaspy had been training in for years. Pi Nature and Ninjaspy live have one predominant similarity: From start to finish one scarcely knows what to expect. From downbeat to breakdown, reggae, ska and hardcore are wed in musical cacophony.
